Yield Performance of Xisen Series of Varieties
In 2017, Shandong Potato Association and the local agriculture bureau organized the high-yield measurement activities of Xisen 3 and Xisen 6 (the planting area of the participating households is more than 667 ㎡, and the measurement area is not less than 135 ㎡). The measurement activities specially invited 17 domestic authoritative potato experts, including Chen Yili, secretary general and professor of the Potato Professional Committee of the Chinese Crop Society, and Li Wengang, former director of the Small Crop Institute of Gansu Academy of Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences and chairman of Inner Mongolia Suzolts and chairman of Inner Mongolia Suzutian Group, learn from the national high-yield standards for open, fair and fair field measurement.
The production testing campaign has been an unprecedented success and has attracted nationwide attention. The Xisen series of seed potatoes did not live up to expectations and performed well. In Tengzhou, 8 households in Xisen No. 3 produced more than 5 tons per mu, 5 households in Xisen No. 6 produced more than 7 tons per mu, 15 households in Xisen No. 6 produced more than 8 tons per mu, and 3 households produced more than 9 tons per mu, setting a world record of 9.38 tons per mu per season.
Director Liu Weimin and Deputy Director Pan Jun of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Mayor Li Feng of Zaozhuang City and other government leaders at all levels, media at all levels of the central government, provinces, prefectures and cities, and representatives of dealers from all over the country, a total of 1,000 people visited the production testing activities to observe and jointly witness the historic moment when Xisen seed potatoes set a world record.
Chu Ruiyun, deputy director of the Department of Agriculture of Shandong Province, Jiang Qinggong, director of the Provincial Seed Management Station, and leaders at all levels of Zaozhuang City and Tengzhou City jointly attended the "Xisen Potato High Yield Competition Award Ceremony" held in Tengzhou to present awards to the winning farmers.
